How a LightFairy glow-in-the-dark canvas print comes to life

In the style of “How it’s made” on Discovery Channel, we’ll describe the steps through which in a few minutes a LightFairy glow-in-the-dark canvas print comes to life. The photos and videos were taken on a usual work day in our workshop.

1. The canvas and the frame haven’t met each other yet

The frames are waiting silently until the images are printed on the canvas in the next room. Note: we also manufacture the frames, and have special days fully dedicated to create a few hundred frames at a time.
The high resolution printer does its job slowly but steady.

2. Framing

After printing is done, the canvas is carefully streched and stitched to the frame.

3. The magic potion

While a regular canvas print would be done at this point, for us the fun only starts.

We apply our secret varnish onto the print. This stores light and releases it in the dark.
To dry the varnish quicker we are using a… hairdryer.

4. Packing

Now our painting has really come to life and is ready for delivery, so…

We put it in protective foil and…
Pack it in a sturdy cardboard box.

5. Then, in a few days, our print transforms the home of its new owner
